I checked my SLB stock, it’s down $2.3o today. If it was a decent price, I might be selling it to fund my E34 M5.

It’s also a little expensive. BAT has had some extremely nice examples go for right around that.

I thought that good examples went for $20k++ but I haven’t followed them that closely, really. Trying to avoid the temptation for now.

Yeah, my first job out of college was as a field engineer for them.

It seems now that E39 prices are depressed into the low 20s/high teens, E34 M5s have been forgotten about. Not a bad thing because I really want one.

Hindsight is always 20/20. You can’t spend too much time kicking yourself for not buying at the bottom or selling at the top. You just have to make rational decisions at the time and *know* that you’re not going to time it perfectly. If you can’t do that (and I have a good buddy who is a really smart CFO who can’t do that), you’re better off avoiding playing the market.

But seriously if I can get a good E34 M5 for that kind of coin, I need to start looking. Have you driven one?

You’re right, it had been preforming poorly for a while so I was thinking about it. It’s alright. I was unemployed at the time and it was part of my emergency fund. Not that I had to touch my savings during that period, if that’s an indicator of how well I managed my oil money.

I have not driven one yet. I’m worried that if I do I’ll end up buying one. I test drove an E92 M3 before I was seriously looking and almost made a really dumb finical decision so I could have one. I do have a weakness for M cars.
